Release date: 11 February 2014
Is the beatmaker scene dying? Maybe. But at least we have The Glitch Mob’s second full-length Love Death Immortality to kick around. The Glitch Mob is a trio of American dubstep/electronica producers with a strong hip-hop influence. This is levels-up, no-holds-barred, powerful club music that focuses a bit more on hard-power than their 2010 release Drink the Sea. It’s totally fit for a rave, especially in the glitched out phase effects (e.g. “Mind of a Beast”). There are more vocal dubs this time, and the respective songs are by far the strongest; Metal Mother channels Karin Andersson from The Knife on “Becoming Harmonious,” and both tracks featuring Aja Volkman are cuts. Love Death Immortality is easily digestible fun times that makes for a welcome hit of adrenaline in the club scene, despite its relative same-soundedness when listened to the whole way through. Party, club, and hit it up all night long with this baby.
Absolutely perfect for morning shows, club/electronic music shows, and party shows. Out on Glass Air Records.
All clean! Cuts are in bold.
